Abstract:Background: Malaria is a major cause of morbidity in the tropics, being a disease of global importance that results in 300-500 million cases annually. Liver involvement manifests as jaundice, hyperbilirubinemia, hepatomegaly and elevated enzymes (transaminases and alkaline phosphatase).
