A Facile Route to Difunctionalized Monosubstituted Octasilsesquioxanes

Abstract: A series of difunctionalized monosubstituted octasilsesquioxanes have been synthesized that bear ester, amino acid, alcohol, haloalkyl, or azido functional groups. These units are suitable nanobuilding blocks for the preparation of new organic-inorganic hybrid materials.
