A Finite Element Analysis Study of Footwear Lower Ensemble Influence on the Plantar Pressure Distribution

Abstract: The plantar pressure distribution has a complex influence on the kinetics and kinematics of the lower limbs. The foot bed-outsole ensemble must provide the correct support of the foot and add corrections if necessary, in order to adjust the pressure distribution on the foot plantar surface. A poorly designed outsole, a feeble midsole or the incorrect care and use of the footwear product will lead to the deterioration of the foot bed functionality. The degree of the foot bed deterioration can be determined usin… Show more

“…Cele mai multe studii s-au concentrat asupra cineticii ºi cinematicii membrelor inferioare ºi presiunii mai mari din zona centralã a antepiciorului odatã cu creºterea înãlþimii tocului. Încãlþãmintea influenþeazã semnificativ starea naturalã a piciorului [16]. Antepiciorul prezintã o eversie mai mare în timpul mersului desculþ ºi o inversie mai mare în timpul mersului cu pantofi [17].…”

“…Most studies have focused on the kinetics and kinematics of the lower limbs and the greater pressure in medial forefoot with increasing heel height. Footwear has a great influence on natural foot condition [16]. There is more eversion of forefoot in barefoot locomotion, and more inversion while shod [17].…”
