Abstract:An increasing demand for assessing the hazard of debris-flow accumulation areas is critical to risk management and policy implication for debris-flow hazard mitigation. In this paper, a framework for hazard assessment in debris flow-prone areas is proposed. Based on the hazard definition, debris-flow hazard is computed by its occurrence probability and disruptive intensity. Debris-flow occurrence probability is defined as a joint probability considering both hydrological and debris supply condition. Debris-flo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
