A Framework of Blockchain Technology in Intelligent Water Management

Abstract: At present, water resource information management in China is mainly a centralized model, and there exist some problems such as high cost, low efficiency, and data storage insecurity. Blockchain technology provides a good solution which can create an efficient trust mechanism among the links in the process of water resource utilization. It guarantees the security of the data, avoiding the sudden collapse of the central institutions caused by some normal operations of the entire system. Based on a decentralizat… Show more

“…According to Ragghianti [44], blockchain allows for the integration of watershed monitoring and direct management of water usage for all system users, maintaining flexibility and guaranteeing all socio-environmental constraints that apply in that basin. Xia et al [45] consider a distributed and decentralized water data management system for the whole supply, consumption, and discharge processes. The system includes two conceptual hybrid blockchain-based solution scenarios: permits for water abstraction and water quality tracking.…”

“…The convergence of blockchain technology, internet of things, artificial intelligence, and machine learning algorithms into cyber-security systems synergistically enhances trust, transparency, privacy, and cyber-security of overall operational systems in pharmaceutical wastewater treatment systems by providing a shared and decentralized distributed ledger (Xia et al 2022). A blockchain technology, generally known as a distributed ledger, can store all information or data related to industry assets like a register (Thakur 2022).…”
