Digital transformation can disrupt any organization in any industry, but few organizations have successfully transformed. For an organization to transform digitally, a firm must adopt new technologies that enable it to change how it creates value. One of the most crucial new technologies organizations need to facilitate digital transformation is Cloud services. Cloud-based technologies are necessary for digital transformation because they allow a firm to cost-effectively obtain needed infrastructure capacity, processing, and developmental flexibility to support advanced analytical tools and methods. Implementing and adopting cloud services can be challenging and requires firm leaders and transformation teams to have an effective strategy that requires understanding a company's cloud readiness. Multiple organizational factors can impact cloud readiness, and depending on a firm's strengths or weaknesses, each element will support or hinder the adoption of cloud services. Understanding a firm's cloud readiness has been shown to improve an organization's adoption of cloud services, but assessing readiness can also be challenging since different assessment models determine readiness in varying ways. Readiness assessment models range from generic technology adoption models to specific cloud services readiness models, and a unified approach is needed that combines the strengths of each model to create a more comprehensive assessment model. A meta-analysis of current readiness assessment models was conducted to identify what crucial factors of an organization need to be assessed. The findings show that there seems to be significant agreement that a company's strategy, current technology, existing operations, and external factors are crucial readiness factors. More recent assessment models also identify gaps in past models, especially on human capital capabilities, system flexibility needs, and security. A more unified cloud assessment model is proposed based on the analysis showing that a firm's readiness should be based on seven crucial factors: strategy, technology, current operations, external requirements, human capital, system flexibility, and security. The new proposed assessment model provides a more comprehensive assessment of a firm's cloud readiness and enables organizations to create an improved adoptions strategy that will better support a company's digital transformation.

High volume, labour-intensive manufacturing operations pose several challenges for successful operations. It is an even bigger challenge to move away from manual dependency and shift towards automation of production processes. There seems to be no general agreement among researchers on what are the critical success factors (CSFs) on the implementation of advanced automation and robotics processes in the manufacturing environment. Success factors vary across the manufacturing industry and also organizational units. This paper attempts to elicit the opinion and perception of academic professionals with links to high volume labour-intensive manufacturing industry. A systematic literature search was conducted on the topic and semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts to gather their views on CSFs. Results from the literature search and interviews revealed that factors related to Organization Strategy, Culture, and Structure; Top management support; Past experience, staffing, and learning; Project management, planning, and control; Finance, and resource availability; Technology maturity and vendor support; to be critical for the success of the production process automation project initiatives. Findings from this study can be used as guidelines to ascertain CSFs for organizations and strategy planning. Manufacturing organizations can also use this study to evaluate their organizational readiness and enhance the level of automation further.

Purpose: The success of satellites in orbit depends on the quality of the engineering processes adopted in the development cycle of the mission. The facilities and processes provided by Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) laboratories support the verification and validation of satelliteś ystems regarding their capacities to operating into space environmental conditions. Choose an ideal AIT organization to a particular satellite project requires knowing their processes and services provided. This paper presents a framework for evaluating the services for satellite AIT provided by an AIT organization. The framework, named PRONT-AIT, allows to assess the organization's readiness based on both process areas and criteria of adherence to the stakeholder´s requirements. Methodology/approach -Inspired by the CMMI model, the PRONT-AIT framework was structured in process areas, covering management and technical processes of the AIT organization, that supports 5 levels of readiness. Each readiness level expresses the organization maturity in terms of the processes and practices established to provide the services required by a particular space project. Findings -The framework's effectiveness is demonstrated through its use to assess the readiness of a particular AIT organization on meeting the specific requirements of two types of satellites: remote sensing and CubeSat satellites. The results reveal that the example organization readiness fully reached level 2 (Manageable Readiness) for remote sensing satellite and partially reached level 2 for CubeSat satellite. Originality/value -The framework has a good value to satellite project managers because it supports them on evaluating an AIT organization prior to contracting its services. Higher readiness level revealed by PRONT-AIT gives to the satellite project manager more confidence on the AIT organization capacities. Thus, an AIT organization is not chosen solely on the basis of the facilities it offers and the cost of the services but also on the level of readiness revealed by PRONT-AIT.
