To our mind, this evidence suggest that sensory memory is mediated by additional levels of representation and not by self-stabilization of rivaling representations, as has been suggested ( Noest et al, 2007 ; Leptourgos, 2020 ). To incorporate sensory memory, the present model would have to be extended to include three hierarchical levels (evidence, decision, and memory), as previously proposed by Gigante et al, 2009 .…”
