A Generalized Approach on Outage Performance Analysis of Dual-Hop Decode and Forward Relaying for 5G and beyond Scenarios

Abstract: This paper presents a generalized approach to the performance analysis of relay-aided communication systems for 5G-and-beyond scenarios. A dual-hop decoding and forwarding scheme is considered in the analysis. The relationship between the outage performance and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is exploited to derive a universal expression of the outage probability that is valid for all fading scenarios, irrespective of their nature or complexity. Furthermore, an effort … Show more

“…The network's nodes' data locations must be known by both static and dynamic nodes. Throughput, energy levels, and packet delivery ratio are the three main factors that affect how well the WSN performs [16][17][18]. The primary objective of the routing protocol structure is to minimize energy consumption by identifying the most energy-efficient routes between the source and the destination.…”

“…In Reference 31, the CDF of the per‐hop SNR was used in this study to estimate the OP of the relay‐aided system for 5G, which is valid for all fading situations taking into account a dual‐hop DF relay system. A detailed analysis of the system performances in terms of OP and throughput over multipath Rayleigh fading channels is provided by the research in Reference 32.…”

“…To meet the increasingly demanding requirements, fifth-generation networks have emerged, aiming to offer significantly higher performance than previous generations [2,3]. Among the performance criteria of these networks, the signal outage probability is a key factor [4,5]. In 5G mobile networks, multiple access techniques have been proposed [6,7] to optimize their performance compared to 4G networks.…”
