Abstract:A one-dimensional mathematical model is developed to analyze the unsteady characteristics of arbitrary damped free motion, denoted as Z(τ), in a rigid, constant-diameter vertical column of a U-tube filled with an incompressible Newtonian liquid, where τ represents time.
