Abstract:The paper presents a new advanced computational method for ultimate and nominal strength analysis of composite steel‐concrete cross‐sections with arbitrary shape subjected to elevated temperatures. The capacity diagrams are evaluated for a given bending‐moments ratio, generating plane and smooth distribution points on interaction diagrams. The ultimate (maximum) strength capacity is formulated as a problem of constrained mathematical optimization of the total bending moment, whereas the proposed approach evalu… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
