“…[BMIm]BF 4 was prepared and purified by using the procedure described by Fang et al [37]. Briefly, N-methylimidazole, 1-bromobutane and sodium tetrafluoroborate were stirred in a three-necked flask with a reflux condenser at 353.15 K for 3.5 h. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was diluted with 50 mL of acetonitrile, after elimination of the precipitated salt (NaBr), the filtrate was then filtered through a pad of celite to remove the residual halide salt and finally concentrated by rotary evaporation to afford a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a yield of greater than 98%, without reaction with AgNO 3 aq.…”
