A highly sensitive detection of chloramphenicol based on chemiluminescence immunoassays with the cheap functionalized Fe3O4@SiO2 magnetic nanoparticles

Abstract: A strategy has been applied to chloramphenicol (CAP) detection with chemiluminescence immunoassays (CLIA) based on cheap functionalized Fe O @SiO magnetic nanoparticles (Fe-MNPs). The strategy that bovine serum albumin (BSA) was immobilized on cheap functionalized Fe-MNPs and that the CAP molecules were then immobilized on BSA, avoided the long process of dialysis for preparation of the BSA-CAP conjugates. The samples were detected for both methods that utilized two different kinds of functionalized Fe-MNPs (a… Show more

“…As a result, various organic functional groups can be further modified on the surface by organosilanes and crosslinking agents, such as amino, 15 carboxyl, 16 thiol, 17 aldehyde, 18 and epoxy groups, 19 etc. After the modification of SiO 2 , biological molecules such as nucleic acids, 20 proteases 21 and antibodies 22 as well as functional molecules such as fluorescent 23 and quantum dots 24 can be loaded by electrostatic adsorption or covalent reaction. Luo et al have simultaneously labeled ABEI and DNA onto the SiO 2 surface to achieve the construction of a CL probe.…”

“…16,17 ELISA protocols for the detection of CIP and CAP in food products have been described in various investigations. [18][19][20][21] In comparison to ELISA, ICA is methodologically simple, does not require any equipment, and is rapid (the assay results can be visually assessed within 5-10 min). 22 Features of the ICAs proposed for the detection of antibiotics in milk are summarized in Table 1.…”

“…Chloramphenicol is usually performed as a broad-spectrum antibiotic with effective antimicrobial activity. It can be usually against a spread variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including the anaerobic organisms [3]. Due to the high activity, chloramphenicol is widely applied in livestock, aquiculture, and cosmetics industries for the prevention and treatment of bacterial infection.…”
