Abstract:Sandy, microbial-mat-laminated sediments are common in estuarine and tidal environments of the Palaeoarchean Moodies Group (ca. 3.22 Ga); they are interspersed with numerous expressions of mafic to intermediate (sub-) volcanism, including sills, stockwork dykes, lavas, and air-fall tuffs.
