Abstract: This paper reports a novel amplified piezoelectric actuator featuring compliant displacement amplification mechanism of hybrid summation and multiplication. The hybrid amplification mechanism uses the concept of nesting a pair of Scott-Russell linkages into a toggle linkage to realize the hybrid amplification functions of summation and multiplication.
