A Lagrange-Newton Method for EIT/UT Dual-Modality Image Reconstruction

Abstract: An image reconstruction method is proposed based on Lagrange-Newton method for electrical impedance tomography (EIT) and ultrasound tomography (UT) dual-modality imaging. Since the change in conductivity distribution is usually accompanied with the change in acoustic impedance distribution, the reconstruction targets of EIT and UT are unified to the conductivity difference using the same mesh model. Some background medium distribution information obtained from ultrasound transmission and reflection measurement… Show more

“…The voltage measurement details can be extracted from the demodulator section, which remains as the most essential part of the device. The signal conditioner circuit is used for many purposes such as noise filtering and signal converting processes [9]. Finally, it is responsible for interfacing a computer.…”

“…Some interesting techniques are Ultrasound Tomography (UT), and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). In fact, UT technique, sensitive to variations in the acoustic impedance of objects, has been used for the detection of the multi-phase flow [9]- [11]. In [12], the principle and technical realization of OCT technique are explained.…”

“…Li et al developed a CT image guided method for EIT inversion, and the proposed algorithm showed the advantage of improved ability of shape preservation [23]. Another representative work is related to EIT and ultrasound tomography (UT) joint imaging which is based on the complementary sensitive areas of these two modalities [24,25]. Reconstructed images based on EIT and UT also presented a better image quality compared with those based on singlemodal EIT.…”
