Abstract:To investigate the characteristics of wind turbine wakes under different aerodynamic roughness lengths, a series of LES-ALM simulations were carried out in this study. First, a sensitivity analysis of the time step of the simulation results was performed. Then, the study compared the power and thrust of wind turbines under different roughness conditions.
