A low‐profile broadband circular polarization filtering antenna

Abstract: Experimental results are in very good agreement with numerical simulations. | CONCLUSIONSA compact waveguide DC-Break operating at 18 GHz has been designed and implemented for a commissioning phase of the compact AISHa ion source at INFN-LNS.The experimental measurement confirms that the proposed structure is able to fulfill an insulation requirement of 50 kV and microwave power losses less than 0.3 dB in about 334 mm without any discharge. The modular solution and the particular shape of insulator windows pro… Show more

“…During the codesign of CP filtering patch antenna, it is very challenging and pretty meaningful to achieve outstanding antenna performance. In fact, some attempts have been made so far on the design of CP filtering antenna in a few recent papers [3][4][5][6][7][8][9] . The CP filtering antennas were realized by suspending the patch radiator above the filtering network [3][4][5][6][7] , which was mainly composed of coupled stripline open-loop resonators.…”

The CP filtering antennas were realized by suspending the patch radiator above the filtering network [3][4][5][6][7] , which was mainly composed of coupled stripline open-loop resonators. Moreover, wideband CP dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) 8 was proposed, and the filtering response was primarily produced by the codesign of wideband filtering quadrature couplers and a snowflakeshaped patch.…”

“…However, when filters are used, it increases the system's cost, volume, and insertion loss . Therefore, a lot of research is being done on the antenna combined with the filter . Some antennas with the stacked patches achieve filtering performance, but they have a large physical size which may limit its integration with the modern 5G devices.…”

[4][5][6][7] Some antennas with the stacked patches achieve filtering performance, [5][6][7] but they have a large physical size which may limit its integration with the modern 5G devices. On the other hand, metasurfaces are widely used in antenna design for the enhancement of gain, 8 increasing bandwidth, 9 polarization conversion, 10 and filtering response.…”
