Abstract:A matched filter is developed and applied to sonic waveforms for extracting reflected signals and minimizing borehole mode waves for S-wave sonic imaging using dipole sources. Sonic imaging uses waveforms acquired by a sonic logging tool in a fluid-filled borehole. Signals from a source are reflected from geological interfaces and recorded by arrays of receivers of the same tool. The reflected signals in the recorded waveforms are extracted and migrated to image geological structures. Because the reflected sig… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
