A model of urban rational growth based on grey prediction

Abstract: 303208624@qq.comAbstract. Smart growth focuses on building sustainable cities, using compact development to prevent urban sprawl. This paper establishes a series of models to implement smart growth theories into city design. Besides two specific city design cases are shown. Firstly, We establishes Smart Growth Measure Model to measure the success of smart growth of a city. And we use Full Permutation Polygon Synthetic Indicator Method to calculate the Comprehensive Indicator (CI) which is used to measure the su… Show more

“…The FPPSI approach's strength is that it can be used to assess all values above and below a certain threshold, which avoids the requirement for subjective discretion evaluation. This is because the approach does not need adjustment of the synaptic weights [39].…”

“…Its forms have an irregular center. Likewise, a total of nΧ(n-1)/2 distinct irregular center n-gons may be formed using the n indicators [19,39]. The normalization process is expressed as a function F(t), and it takes a value between [-1, 1] [39,40].…”

“…Source: Authors modified from (Xiao, 2017) where S i is the standardized value of indicator X i ; U i is the upper limit of X i , which is usually the highest value of X i ; L i is the lower limit of Xi, which is commonly the lowest value of X i ; and T i is the threshold value of X i , which is usually the average value of X i . The lower limit, the upper limit are determined by looking for the best and worst performances of cities in the world ( UN Habitat, 2016).…”
