Abstract:Background and Objective
The number of lung transplantations performed in Japan is increasing, and post-transplant outcomes are relatively favorable. A major concern is the extremely long waiting time and the high mortality rate on the waitlist. The management of patients before transplantation is very important and essential for further improvement of outcomes. In this review, we summarize the management of patients awaiting lung transplantation in Japan.
