“…Since alkene metathesis can be problematic because of the potential for homometathesis occurring and the nondirectional nature of the alkene bonds, an alternative reaction relying on C−Si/C−H metathesis was developed, as discussed in Section 3.12. This methodology was extended by the group of Marciniec to the reaction of vinyl boronates and vinyl germanes with monosubstituted alkenes by using a Ru‐hydride complex.
