Abstract:This paper proposes a new control scheme of fivelevel active NPC (5L-ANPC) converters for common mode voltage (CMV) mitigation in medium voltage (MV) drives. By properly synchronizing and selecting the voltage vectors of active frond-end rectifier and motor-side inverter, the peak level of CMV at motor terminals can be effectively reduced, which is required for explosion proof (EX) applications. The characteristics of CMV in back-to-back 5L-ANPC converter drive systems are analyzed and presented. The principle… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
