A NEW GENUS AND THREE NEW SPECIES OF SPONDYLIASPIDAE (HOMOPTERA: PSYLLOIDEA) ON EUCALYPTUS

Platyobria gen. n. is described for 9 new species: P. lewisi (type species). P. udustalata, P. bordenensis, P. brevijoliae, P . capitata, P. cultrata, P. maddeni, P. minima and P. singularis. The host trees of all species are Eucalyprus spp. The nymphs of P. lewisi, P. adustulata and P . maddeniare described; those of the first 2 feed upon young succulent leaves and twigs and those of P. maddeni induce shallow pit galls in young leaves; nymphs of the other 6 species are unknown.

Blasiopsylla gen. n. contains 9 new species: B. moorei (type-species), B. brunnea and B. bivittaia from eastern Australia; B. adnatariae, B. multisetulae and B. octosetulae from South Australia; B. occidentalis and B. nigricollaris from Western Australia; and B. deglupiae from Papua New Guinea. These insects feed on the growing tips of Eucalyptus, and some species also on related myrtaceous hosts. B. occidentalis has become established in New Zealand and California.

REVISION OF EUCALYPTOLYMA FROGGATT (HOMOPTERA: PSYLLOIDEA) WITH TWO NEW GENERA OF AUSTRALIAN PSYLLIDS

The genus Eucalyptolyma Froggatt (Spondyliaspididae) is revised and 2 new genera erected in the tribe Ctenarytainini (Aphalaridae, Euphyllurinae) to receive species formerly placed in It. These are Anoeconeossa gen.n. with Eucalyptolyma fuscipennis (Froggatt) as type species, and Leptospermonastes gen.n. with type species E. leptospermi (Froggatt). The 2 type species are redescribed. Also redescribed are Eucalyptolyma errarica Froggatt and 2 new combinations, Anoeconeossa mimilis (Froggatt) and A . nigripennis (Froggatt). Eucalypto17vma multicolor (Froggatt) is synonymised with A . assimilis.Nineteen new species are described: Eueulyplol~~mu distinctu, E. minima, E. pollicuris, Anoeconeossa bullura, A . communis, A . copidqormis, A . kalgoorliensi~, A . miniurae. A . morgani, A . pecrinata, A . secrela. A . socciformis, A . letrugonae. A . aquilonia, A . trivittalu. A . unicornula, A . vespertina, Leptospermonasles utienuari, and L. brunneus.Keys to the species in each genus are given.
