A NEW METHOD OF INSULIN-SHOCK THERAPY. LENTE INSULIN TREATMENT ON SCHIZOPHRENIC PATIENTS¹⁾(Ist Report)

Abstract

Summary With a rather small number of cases treated with the Lente‐insulin, it would be risky to draw a conclusion on the therapeutic effect of this preparation. However. during the above‐mentioned tests, the favorable results were observed in some of the patients with chronic schizophrenia who did not respond to the regular insulin‐, and electroshock therapy, not saying of resistent cases to regular, insulin. And in one case (Case 7), Lente‐insulin exhibited a remarkable effect on a patient who had the initial attack of the disease.
