“…Density functional theory calculations were performed to further understand the bonding nature of the sensor R -β-D- 1 with Bi 3+ . The density functional of B3LYP/6-31G was carried out using the program Gaussian 09W, and the dispersion correction of GD3BJ was taken into account to calculate the structure and energy levels of the sensor R -β-D- 1 before and after coordination with Bi 3+ [ 39 ]. The structure of the sensor R -β-D- 1 after optimization is shown in Figure 7 a.…”

“…Due to the restrain of the intramolecular vibration and rotation of ligands by the aggregation, the emission of Au/Ag NCs could be enhanced. PPi, containing two phosphate groups, could coordinate well with Zn 2+ (Xu et al, 2020 ). Therefore, when PPi were present, they could competitively bind with Zn 2+ and remove Zn 2+ from aggregates.…”

“…In our study, Zn 2+ could effectively cause the aggregation of Au/Ag NCs via the electrostatic interaction between Zn 2+ and ligands on the surface of Au/Ag NCs, thereby enhancing the luminescence of Au/Ag NCs. When PPi was added to the Zn 2+ -Au/Ag NCs aggregates, the coordination of Zn 2+ and PPi would remove Zn 2+ from aggregates (Dong et al, 2017 ; Xu et al, 2020 ), resulting in the destruction of aggregates and the decrease of luminescence intensity of Au/Ag NCs. According to the relationship between the fluorescence intensity and the concentration of PPi, the detection of PPi was achieved.…”

“…[167][168][169] As a consequence, real-time detection of Zn 2 + metal ions is of extreme significance. [170][171][172][173][174][175][176] Hence, optical chemosensors have come up a long way in monitoring metal ions even in trace amounts. [177][178][179][180][181][182][183][184] Xiang et al the intensity at 400 nm with a decrease in absorbance at 500 nm of 103 on the addition of Zn 2 + .…”
