Abstract: A novel 2D nonlinear dynamical paradigm is constructed to interpret the fast and repetitive
frequency chirping and amplitude oscillation of Alfvén eigenmodes excited by energetic particles in
fusion plasmas as observed in global gyrokinetic simulations. In this non-perturbative paradigm
