Abstract: Ice-strengthened ships inevitably suffer from ice floe impacts during navigation in icy regions. Under some extreme-ice-impact loadings, the ship structure will experience plastic deformations. The magnitude of plastic deformation is highly correlated with the ice floe-impact energy level.
