A new receiver clock model to enhance BDS-3 real-time PPP time transfer with the PPP-B2b service

Abstract: A new Precise Point Positioning (PPP) service, called the PPP-B2b service, has been implemented in the BeiDou-3 Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3), which brings new opportunities for time transfer. However, the solution using the traditional PPP method with the PPP-B2b correction still absorbs some unknown errors and needs reconverging when there exist abnormal data. We developed a new receiver clock model to improve PPP time transfer using the PPP-B2b correction. The traditional PPP time transfers using PPP-… Show more

“…By applying the PPP method, millimeter or centimeter-level positioning and sub-nanosecond level timing or time transfer are usually achieved with GNSS carrier phase, pseudo-range, and highprecise orbit/clock products. Currently, post-processing PPP applications, such as positioning [4], timing [5][6][7][8], ionosphere 7 Guofang Wang and Lei Xu are the first authors. * Authors to whom any correspondence should be addressed.…”

“…Both the IGSO and MEO satellites of BDS-3 can transmit observations of five frequency signals [3,4]. Despite the increased complexity in process-ing the observations of multi-orbit and multi-frequency signals, this ability significantly improves the overall service performance and accuracy of the system [5,6].…”

“…introduced the PPP‐B2b service introduced in the Beidou‐3 navigation satellite system, and used the new receiver clock model to improve the accuracy of PPP time transfer, especially the improvement effect on BDS‐3 and BDS‐3/GPS PPP. The results show that the new clock model significantly improves the accuracy of time transfer and short‐term frequency stability [12]. Since 2020, China's Beidou satellite system has provided real‐time precision point positioning services in the Asia–Pacific region, which can be used for centimetre‐level positioning and real‐time time transmission.…”
