Abstract:In this paper a new statistical measure for estimating the degree of dissimilarity between two symbolic objects whose features are multivalued type is proposed. In addition two new simple representation techniques viz., interval type and magnitude type for the computed dissimilarity between the symbolic objects are introduced. The dissimilarity matrices obtained are not necessarily symmetric. Hence, clustering algorithms to work on such unconventional approximated matrices, by introducing the concept of mutual… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
