A New Terbium Coordination Polymer Constructed from 4-Oxo-1(4H)quinolineacetate: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Fluorescent Properties

Abstract: A new terbium complex, Tb(L) 2 ·2H 2 O [L = 4-oxo-1(4H)quinolineacetate] (1), has been synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis, and infraredspectroscopy,as well as single-crystal x-ray diffraction. Single-crystal x-ray analysis reveals that 1 is a three-dimensional supramolecular network built up from two-dimensional (2D) layers with the (4,4) net that is assembled via hydrogen bonding and π ···π stacking interactions.
