Abstract:Models for the microstructure evolution during hot rolling are reviewed. The basic macroscopic phenomena related to recrystallization are summarized. Constitutive models based on semi empirical equations are compared to more sophisticated models based on cellular automata, vertex and Monte-Carlo-Potts methods.
