A Novel Application of Tin‐Based Alkoxide Anion for Deacetylation.

Abstract: A dibutylstannylene acetal in the presence of CsF efficiently cleaves both aromatic and aliphatic acetates in a short time to give the deprotected alcohols in good to excellent yields. The cyclic stannane is prepared in situ. A non-radical transesterification mechanism via a highly reactive fluoride-generated tin-based alkoxide is assumed. -(LIN*, W.; LONG, L.; PENG, D.; GUO, C.; J.
