A novel carbon quantum dot-based fluorescent nanosensor for selective detection of flumioxazin in real samples

Abstract: Herein, a carbon quantum dot-based highly selective luminescent probe has been designed for the detection of the pesticide flumioxazin via the alkyne azide click reaction.

“…Some of them can also act as theragnostic agents or as cell-labelling agents. Although numerous fluorescent dyes have already been developed, there is still a lack of biomaterials which are non-cytotoxic, water soluble and characterized by strong photoluminescence and reasonable stability [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ].…”

“…A hydrothermal technique was used to make CQDs from sucrose and ascorbic acid. [76] The precursor solution is enclosed inside a Teflon-lined autoclave and heated at 100 to 220 °C for hours in a typical method. To obtain nano-sized carbon dots, large particles are cleared.…”

“…Due to its low cost, affordable machinery, simple one‐step preparation, minimal energy consumption, and environmentally benign reaction process, it is one of the easiest and most appealing technologies for manufacturing CDs. A hydrothermal technique was used to make CQDs from sucrose and ascorbic acid [76] . The precursor solution is enclosed inside a Teflon‐lined autoclave and heated at 100 to 220 °C for hours in a typical method.…”

“…As such, intensive effort has been devoted to synthesizing CDs with specic heteroatom or functional groups through doping or post modication to achieve selective interactions. [21][22][23][24][25] b-Cyclodextrin (b-CD) is a cyclic oligosaccharide composed of seven D-galactose units linked by a-1,4-glycosidic bonds thus obtaining a hydrophilic outer surface and a hydrophobic inner cavity. The unique molecular structure of b-CD allows some compounds to enter the cavity completely or partially and form host-guest inclusion complexes, which has been proved to be effective for constructing highly selective uorescence sensors in several studies.…”
