Abstract:Background: Prolonged warm ischemia time (WIT) in kidney transplantation is associated with numerous adverse outcomes including delayed graft function and decreased patient and graft survival. Circumventing WIT lies in maintaining renal hypothermia and efficiently performing the vascular anastomosis during this portion of the procedure.
