A novel copper(II)-Schiff base complex containing pyrrole ring: Synthesis, characterization and its modified electrodes applied in oxidation of aliphatic alcohols

Abstract: International audienceA new copper(II) complex Cu(II)-L containing N2O2 donor atoms has been prepared from 6-[3′-(N-pyrrol)propoxy]-2-hydroxyacetophenone and diaminoethane in the presence of copper acetate monohydrate. It was characterized by spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR, UV-vis, mass spectra, elemental analysis and cyclic voltammetry. The molecular structure of Cu(II)-L has also been confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The electrochemical behavior of copper(II)-Schiff base complex containing pyrro… Show more

“…The third peak at E pa = + 0.284 V may be assigned to oxidation of Cu (II)/Cu (III). The peak‐to‐peak separation of 60 mV indicates the reversible behavior of the Cu (II)/(I), Cu(I)/Cu (II) and Cu (II)/Cu (III) couples 73 …”

“…The reaction of 1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde with ethyl bromoproacetate resulted in the formation of ethyl(2-formyl-1H-pyrrole-1-yl)-acetate (Koriatopoulou et al, 2008;Singh & Pal, 2010). The reaction of two moles of the above with p-phenylenediamine (Yang et al, 2004;Ourari et al, 2013) gave the Schiff base. The reduction of the Schiff base (Higuchi et al, 2003;Nabipour et al, 2010) gave the the title secondary amine.…”
