A novel, highly efficient cavity backshort design for far-infrared TES detectors

Abstract: h i g h l i g h t s An improved cavity backshort coupling scheme for TES (transition edge sensors). Increased coupling of the incoming astronomical signal to the TES detectors. Improved cavity geometry, resulting from anisotropic silicon crystal etching process. Novel, efficient mode-matching code for modelling electrically large structures.
