A Novel Method for Synthesis and their Antimicrobial Activity of 1H-Tetrazole Based Flavones and Flavanone Derivatives under Ultrasonic and Microwave Irradiation Methods
Abstract:A series of novel tetrazole scaffolds containing flavones and flavanones have been synthesized under conventional, ultrasonic and microwave irradiation methods. All the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, NMR and Mass spectral analysis. Furthermore, the title compounds were screened in vitro antimicrobial activity against bacteria such as Staphylococus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli as well as fungi such as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus and Fusar… Show more
“…They also act as a prominent source of versatile synthons for assembling new anti-cancer inhibitors. 1 Among the varied tetrazole libraries, α-ketotetrazoles are of particular interest as these compounds can often be conveniently converted into biologically active inhibitors as key intermediates. 2 In this case, the reaction of tetrazoles with α-haloaryl ketones provides a classical method for installing a tetrazole group into the C(sp 3 ) position of the ketones.…”
We herein reported an electrochemical synthesis of α-tetrazolyl ketones by C–H/N–H cross-coupling with excellent yields and broad substrate scope, encompassing various aryl ketones, heterocycles, and alkyl ketone drugs.
