A Novel Power Divider Integrated With Siw and DGS Technology

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, a novel power divider integrated with substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and defected ground structures (DGS) techniques is proposed to provide both power dividing and filtering functions. The SIW technique holds advantages of low profile, low-lost, mass-production, easy fabrication and fully integration with planar circuits. By integrating with defected ground structures (DGS) technique, the size and cost of system can be effectively reduced as the proposed power divider has a functi… Show more

“…In this table, the advantages in fractional bandwidth and insertion loss are very obvious. Furthermore, the proposed filtering HMSIW PD has a size of 1.04 × 0.78λ 2 g , which is much more compact than that in [14][15][16][17]. Also, compared with the reported circuit in [17], a size reduction of 42% is achieved.…”

“…The combination of both functionalities provides a circuit with benefits of low loss, low cost, and compact size. Several PDs based on SIW and HMSIW have been investigated [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]. However, the proposed circuits in [10][11][12][13][14] do not include the bandpass filtering response, which restricts their applications in practical systems.…”

“…Many efforts have been made to enhance its performance, such as ultrawideband and broadband power divider [2][3][4][5], tri-band or integrated with substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and defected ground structure (DGS) technology power dividers [6,7], compact coupledline and stepped-impedance transmission lines dual-band Wilkinson power dividers [8,9], and dual-band unequal Wilkinson power divider using asymmetric coupled-line [10]. More than that, Bagley Polygon power divider (BPPD) has no lumped elements, such as resistors, and can be easily extended to any number of output ports [11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19].…”

“…In many applications, the power dividers and bandpass filters usually need to be connected up to divide and filter signals [1][2][3][4][5]. In order to further reduce circuit size and manufacturing cost, it is beneficial to integrate them into a single component.…”
