A novel radial beam smoothing scheme based on optical Kerr effect

Abstract: Laser-beam illumination uniformity is a key issue in inertial confinement fusion facilities. In order to fulfill the requirement of improving illumination uniformity, a radial smoothing (RS) scheme is proposed.
