A novel storage and tunable light source generated by a soliton pulse in a micro ring resonator system for super dense wavelength division multiplexing use

Abstract: We propose a novel system of a dense wavelength division operation using the nonlinear microring resonators system that can be used to generate the broad output light spectra, whereas the significant increase in channel capacity is obtained. A system consists of two micro and a nanoring resonators incorporating an add/drop filter that can be integrated into a single system. The large bandwidth signal is generated by using a soliton pulse propagating within a Kerr type nonlinear medium. The obtained results hav… Show more

“…Th e magnitude of optical trapping force is in thepico Newton (pN) range, depending on the relative refractive index of the particle (Takada et al 2002). Th e particle radius located in the cavity decreases with the decrease in refractive indices compared with the host medium (Sarapat et al 2009, Smit 2005. Th e waveguide of the drug delivery system can be an optical waveguide with a liquid core, which can trap the drug molecules smoothly within the micro-needle network.…”

“…For one thing, add-drop filters' capability will affect the size of network, where the maximum nodes of a network depend on the amount of total channels of add-drop filter. The popular dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) product has 40 channels, 18,20 and can easily build a feasible quantum key distribution network. 21 We consider the case that the multi frequency channel communication is not as popular as internet; this net size may be enough for a big city and available sufficiently for future users.…”

“…The maximum nodes of a network depend on the max amount of channels of add/drop filter. The popular DWDM product has 40 channels, and 4200 channels have been achieved in laboratory [16, 17]. That means, it is possible to build a “quantum router” with 4200 ports in future.…”
