A paper/polymer hybrid CD-like microfluidic SpinChip integrated with DNA-functionalized graphene oxide nanosensors for multiplex qLAMP detection

Abstract: A paper/ poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) hybrid CD-like microfluidic SpinChip integrated with DNA probe-functionalized graphene oxide (GO) nanosensors was developed for multiplex quantitative LAMP detection (mqLAMP). This approach can simply and effectively address a major challenging problem of multiplexing in current LAMP methods.

“…Such specific treatment decreases the chance of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria arising. Automated nucleic acid extraction and miniaturized polymerase chain reaction (PCR) systems for point-of-care testing have already been commercialized 4 7 , and isothermal nucleic acid amplification methods such as loop-mediated isothermal amplification, rolling circle amplification, and nicking enzyme amplification reaction have been developed 8 10 . Thus, it is expected that a variety of on-site genetic diagnoses will be possible.…”

“…Nanomaterials have attracted increased attention in multiple disciplines due to their unique size and shape effects. [1][2][3][4] As an important member of nanomaterials, noble metal nanocatalysts (Au nanoclusters, Pd nanoparticles, Pt nanoparticles, etc.) have widespread applications in many elds, such as environmental catalysis, [5][6][7] photothermal therapy, [8][9][10] carbon-carbon coupling reactions, [11][12][13] etc.…”

“…A power-free microfluidic chip was developed by Li et al [42] for fluorescent DNA detection employing a DNA intercalator and GO. For multiplex quantitative LAMP detection for the amplification of DNA Duo et al [43] fabricated a paper/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) hybrid CD-like micro-fluidic SpinChip integrated with DNA probe-functionalized GO nanosensor which can deal with the problems faced by conventional mLAMP in identifying multiple targets. A highly flexible microfluidic tactile sensor based on GO nanosuspension was reported by Kenry et al [44].…”
