A Preliminary Model for the Examination of Intention Throu Gh Content Analysis

Abstract

This paper, after outlining a model of the processes of interaction, proposes a classification of intentions in terms of eight categories which are claimed to be exhaustive. This gives rise to a technique of content analysis applicable to the arts and the mass media.
