A preventive maintenance of circular consecutive-k-out-of-n: F systems

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a preventive maintenance policy with continuous monitoring for a circular consecutive-k-out-of-n: F systems. A preventive maintenance policy is developed based on the system critical condition which is related to the number of working components in the minimal cut sets of the system. If there is at least one minimal cut set which consists of only one working component, the system is maintained preventively (PM) after a certain time interval and the failed compone… Show more

“…The aforementioned argument holds true, since for m = 1, the proposed structure reduces to the one established in [25]. Finally, an analogous reliability study of structures with two common failure criteria and a single change point and maintenance policy (see, e.g., [31,32]) could be an interesting topic for future research.…”

“…These processes are subsumed in maintenance data management, discussed in Section 2.2. However, to meticulously address decision support aspects, including equipment life cycle (Ghosh et al , 2018), maintenance cost management (Endharta and Yun, 2017) and asset performance, and further articulate the overarching strategy of the maintenance function in the organization, deriving and application of maintenance objectives is essential (Wakiru et al , 2019a). Hence, it is of utmost importance that such goals are aligned and linked to the organizational maintenance strategies at the operational, tactical and strategic levels.…”

“…Maintenance policies are ordered into two classes of preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) (Azadeh and Abdolhossein Zadeh, 2016;Endharta and Yun, 2017;Oke and Charles-Owaba, 2006;Shankar and Sahani, 2003). PM comprises actions intended to progress the total availability and reliability of a system (Ebrahimipour et al, 2015).…”
