A previously undescribed phenolic compound from Acanthus ilicifolius L.

Abstract: The plants Acanthus ilicifolius L. (Acanthaceae) are used in Vietnamese folk medicine for the treatment of stomach pain, hepatitis, asthama, and rheumatism.
