A prognostic Risk Score model for oral squamous cell carcinoma constructed by 6 glycolysis-immune-related genes

Abstract: Background Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most frequent tumor of the head and neck. The glycolysis-related genes and immune-related genes have been proven prognostic values in various cancers. Our study aimed to test the prognostic value of glycolysis-immune-related genes in OSCC. Methods Data of OSCC patients were obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. Enrichment analysis was applied t… Show more

“…Our study on colon adenocarcinoma revealed that STC2 expression was also associated with CD4 + T and CD8 + T cells. Also, study reported that the prognostic risk score was positively correlated with CD4 + T content, but not B lymphocyte, CD8 + T, neutrophil, macrophage, and dendritic cell content, in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (Liu et al, 2021). STC2 is a risk gene significantly associated with OS in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.…”

“…We have obtained five gene construction risk signature, of which IGSF11 has been shown to be associated with glycolysis of breast cancer [ 37 ], and the other four genes are associated with tumor migration and invasion [ [38] , [39] , [40] , [41] ]. However, the relationship between these four genes and glycolysis has not been reported in the studies.…”

“…Multivariate Cox analysis confirmed that the prognostic risk model could be used as an independent prognostic factor independent of other clinicopathological features. Numerous studies have reported that the prognosis of cancer patients could be accurately predicted by constructing immunogenetic prognostic risk models. In our study, we constructed a prognostic risk model for HCC based on immune genes that could effectively assess clinical outcomes and provide guidance for the treatment and prognosis of HCC patients.…”
