“…The fsQCA represents a useful approach that include the advantages of both qualitative and quantitative analyses, because it allows interaction effects among each characteristic within a case, and it allows flexibility in the characterization of cases. The number of researchers who use this methodology in the field of consumer preferences, and specifically in the field of EVs, is steadily increasing [21].In particular, we focus on the analyses of social, environmental and technological factors, such as benefits and barriers perceived by consumers, which might be a useful tool both to develop the EV market share among consumers, and to support policy makers in designing effective strategies pushing EVs. The novelty of our paper is that it identifies, for different age groups, configurations of conditions that would exert an important positive influence when considering EVs and potential purchase decisions, providing useful insights for understanding specific pattern of variables for EVs' deployment in Perugia and elsewhere. The paper proceeds as follows.…”

“…Governmental incentives and other fiscal decisions in support of EVs are among the policy factors influencing EV market penetration. Lack of appropriate infrastructure for EVs, public acceptability, and dependence on electricity grid characteristics are among the environmental factors affecting EV market diffusion (Yong & Park, 2017).…”

“…By 2020, Japan aimed at increasing the penetration of EVs and PHVs by 15 to 20 percent of new car sales. Germany also set goals to increase EVs fleet to 1 million by 2020 by providing a robust infrastructure (Yong & Park, 2017). In the state of Washington, PEV registrations grew from around 8,000 to 12,000 from 2013 to 2014.…”

“…Taeseok Yong et al [3] ., proposed that there are several chronological factors affecting the deployment of electric vehicles. Technology factors are closely related to the characteristics of the EV, such as driving distance, charging time, EV purchase prices.…”
