Aims Inherited bleeding diseases greatly affect education, working, job, social activities and quality of life. We aimed to discover the sources of identity challenges among patients with Haemophilia. Design The present study has been designed and performed as a qualitative content analysis research. Methods Participants were purposively selected from haemophilia patients referred to our clinic during one year, from March 2018 to April 2019. Data collection was done through semi‐structured, in‐depth interviews using purposeful sampling. Data were analysed based on Granheme and Landman method. The main categories were fear of rejection, losing social roles, discrimination and stigma and marriage breakdown. Results Patients with haemophilia encounter several challenges due to physical and social constraints caused by the disease. Such challenges result in disturbances in the self‐identity of the patients. Conclusion According to the results of this study, the nurses should plan to have attention to the patients with haemophilia, based on more protection and better supports.

Type II diabetes (T2D) is a major global health problem (Banerjee, Nema, Dhas, & Mishra, 2017), and its prevalence is rapidly increasing throughout the world (Hu et al., 2015). According to an International Diabetes Federation (IDF) report, 382 million adults in the world had diabetes in 2013 (Han, Kim, Kim, Lee, & Cho, 2017) and this figure is expected to reach 592 million by 2035 (Guariguata et al., 2014). The mentioned statistic also suggests that most of the diabetes patients will have T2D (Han et al., 2017). Currently, more than 4 million people have diabetes in Iran and this figure triples every 15 years (Esteghamati et al., 2014; Zendehtalab, Vaghei, & Emamimoghadam, 2013). According to the experts' unofficial predictions, the diabetes population of Iran will reach nine million by 2020 (Rohani et al., 2016). However, the prevalence of T2D is estimated to be 8.6% in Iran (Nosratabadi, Halvaiepour, Yousefi, & Karimi, 2016). The increasing prevalence of diabetes leads to extensive treatment costs. Objectives: The study was conducted to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and opinions of male patients infected with the hepatitis B virus about their disease. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in a military hospital in Ankara between July 2016 – July 2017. The study population consisted of 244 male patients admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic of the hospital within one year. No sample selection was made, and 208 patients accepted to participate were included in the study. The research data were collected by a questionnaire form consisting of 28 questions prepared by the researchers in line with the literature. For statistical analysis, IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows. Version 22.0 program was used. Results: Of the patients, 86.5% were single, 50% were primary school graduates, 65.4% were self-employed, and their mean age was 22.67±2.9. According to the data, 53.4% of the patients were HBeAg-negative, and 46.6% were HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B patients. Healthcare personnel was the information source for 51.9% of the patients, and 80.8% felt the need to get more information about their disease. 88.4% of the patients stated that hepatitis B disease could be transmitted through the bloodstream, and 80.7% of them stated that being vaccinated prevented them from being sick. 86.5% of the patients stated that the purpose of the treatment of hepatitis B disease was to prevent the progression of the disease. Conclusions: According to the study’s results, we determined that the patients’ knowledge and attitudes about their diseases were insufficient.
