Tuberculosis is an inflammatory disease of the lung parenchyma caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This research aims to find out the description of the diagnosis and management of adult pulmonary TB patients hospitalized at RSU Royal Prima Medan in 2020. This study is a descriptive study. This study is based on medical record data on inpatients with a diagnosis of pulmonary TB at the Royal Prima General Hospital Medan in 2020. The youngest patient was 18 years old and the oldest was 82 years old. The main complaint was shortness of breath (53%), additional complaints were cough (48%), symmetrical physical examination of the thorax (91%), positive sputum smear examination (72%), combined medical management of pulmicort + fumadryl + paracetamol + levofloxacin + OAT category I (72%), the longest length of stay was 7-8 days (38%), the shortest was 11-12 days (1%). In conclusion, pulmonary TB occurs more in men in the 37- 45 year age group (22%), the most complaints are shortness of breath (53%), and the most widely used combination treatment is pulmicort + fumadryl + paracetamol + levofloxacin + drugs anti tuberculosis category I (72%).

Case Report: Prostatitis tuberculosis mimicking prostate cancer

A 56-year-old male who presented with recurrent gross hematuria and moderate lower urinary tract symptoms. After taking the patient’s medical history and performing a physical exam, suspicion of prostate cancer arose with prostate enlargement during rectal examination without tenderness and palpable nodes. Ultrasound showed estimated prostate volume of 95 gr and prostate specific antigen of 5.5. Transurethral resection of the prostate was performed and prostate tissue was checked by a pathologist, with histopathological examination showing active tuberculosis lesions. An interferon gamma release assay test was performed, which showed a positive result. The patient was diagnosed with prostatitis tuberculosis and treated with standard nine-month regimen for extra-pulmonary tuberculosis. Prostate enlargement due to tuberculosis is rare and its presence may mimic prostate cancer presentation; however, due to its rarity, careful examination is needed in order to provide optimal management.

Tujuan: COVID-19 adalah suatu penyakit infeksi yang baru ditemukan sejak Desember 2019 yang kemudian diumumkan oleh WHO sebagai pandemi global. Gambaran radiologi pada COVID-19 cukup bervariasi, namun yang paling sering ditemukan adalah ground-glass opacity (GGO). Metode: Dilaporkan kasus seorang laki-laki usia 39 tahun dengan abse paru pada COVID-19Hasil: Pada laporan kasus ini kami melaporkan seorang pasien COVID-19 dengan manifestasi klinis yang jarang yaitu abses paru. Hasil pemeriksaan molekular TB pada pasien ini adalah negatif. Pasien ini mengalami perbaikan gejala klinis setelah dilakukan prosedur drainase cairan abses. Abses paru pada COVID-19 sangat jarang ditemukan sehingga pembahasan lebih lanjut mengenai pasien ini perlu untuk dilakukan.Kesimpulan: Abses paru adalah salah satu manifestasi klinis pada COVID-19. Drainase cairan abses dapat membantu memperbaiki keadaan klinis pasien COVID-19.
