A reentrant bakable all-metal feedthrough vacuum seal

Abstract: The design, construction, and testing of a reentrant metal seal are described. The principal advantages of this seal are that it occupies a minimum cross-section diameter, requires no special alignment of the components, does not need a large rotational torque to seal, and has a large margin of sealing force. Jackscrews are used to apply the sealing force.
