Abstract:This paper proposes a numerical framework to perform highly accurate simulations of seepage flow through porous media with the incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (ISPH). Our approach follows the arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian description, which can introduce an arbitrary advection velocity for particle shifting techniques (PSTs) independently of the physical fluid velocity. The Darcy–Forchheimer–Brinkman equation is applied to deal with free surface flow and seepage flow simultaneously instead of th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
